Composer in Residence – Komponistinnen nach Frankfurt

In cooperation with the Institute for Contemporary Music (I z M) at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, the Archiv Frau und Musik (Archive for Women and Music) awards a scholarship to female composers of all ages and nationalities. The scholar is chosen every two years from the submitted applications by an expert jury. The programme is supported by Hessen’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts, the Frankfurt Foundation maecenia for Women in Science and Arts and the Ingrid zu Solms-Stiftung (IzS-S).

Sun young Pahg

Winner of the first 'Composer in Residence – Komponistinnen nach Frankfurt' grant was Sun-Young Pahg, who was born in 1974 in South Korea. She prevailed against more than 50 competitors from 30 countries and began her three-month residence in Frankfurt on August 10, 2009

Belma Beslic-Gál

The winner of the second 'Composer in Residence – Komponistinnen nach Frankfurt' grant was presented at the International Music Fair in Frankfurt on April 7, 2011. Her name is Belma Beslic-Gál. She was chosen by a jury of experts from over 80 submissions from all over the world. The composer and pianist was born in 1978 and lives and works in Vienna and Salzburg
